Draw a pipe run

Pull a pipe run across the drawing and get metres in the bill of quantities straight away.

    Pick Pipe run (“Ledning”) in the tool rail

    The panel on the right switches to Pipe run (“Ledning”) and shows the settings for the next run you pull.

    Worth knowing. If Pipe run (“Ledning”) is grey the scale is not set yet — the button says “Ledning — sätt skalan först” (pipe run — set the scale first) when you point at it.

    Pick the system

    The list System: foul water (“Spillvatten”, S), surface water (“Dagvatten”, D), water (“Vatten”, V), land drainage (“Dränering”, DR) and ducting (“Kabelrör”, K). The colour of the line follows the system you pick.

    Pick the material

    The list Material: concrete (“Betong”), HT, K2, PE, PEM, PP, PVC and ductile iron (“Segjärn”). PP is the default. An object you place drives its own list — a chamber can be PP, K2 or concrete. A cover is instead picked as solid (“Tät”), grated (“Galler”), domed grate (“Kupolsil”) or square (“fyrkantig”), and its load class (A15–F900) is picked together with the size under Dimension.

    Pick the size

    The size list only shows the sizes the material comes in — PVC runs 110 to 400 mm, concrete is written DN150 to DN2700.

    Worth knowing. Change material and the size moves to the nearest size that material actually comes in.

    Click where the pipe run starts

    The status line under the canvas confirms it: Click the next point along the pipe run (“Klicka nästa punkt längs ledningen”).

    Keep clicking along the run

    One click per bend. The stretch between the points is drawn as you go.

    Worth knowing. Hold Shift while you click and the direction locks to steps of 45 degrees — good on straight mains.

    Double-click when the run is done

    Enter does the same, as does the button Finish pipe run (“Avsluta ledning”) in the panel. The run lands as a row in Drawn and measured (“Ritat och mätt”) and as metres in the bill of quantities.

    Put right a point you set wrong

    Backspace removes the last point. Esc abandons the whole run without saving it.

    Worth knowing. If the run is already finished, Ctrl+Z takes it back.

    Carry on from a run you have already drawn

    Click near an existing run of the same material and the point snaps to it — at an end, at a bend or in the middle of the line.

    Save the settings you draw with most

    Under Profiles (“Profiler”) you type a name and press Save (“Spara”). The profile puts system, size, material and waste allowance back with one click next time.
